Train service update from London Northwestern Railway & West Midland trains

As a result of the ongoing impact of Covid, services on the Abbey, Marston Vale and Birmingham New Street – Birmingham International lines have been running to rail replacement / amended timetables. With the situation beginning to improve, we are now in a position to reinstate some services on these routes. Please see a full summary of what’s changing below:

Marston Vale Line (Bletchley - Bedford)

From Monday 14 February, a reduced train service will resume on the Marston Vale line (Monday – Saturday). This will continue to be supplemented by rail replacement buses.

Abbey Line (Watford Junction - St Albans Abbey)

From Monday 21 February, the majority of weekday services will be served by train (with the exception of 2 evening services in each direction). A full train timetable will run on weekends.

Birmingham New Street – Birmingham International

From Monday 21 February, a full timetable will resume between Birmingham New Street – Birmingham International, meaning the services removed in early January will be reinstated.

Volunteers come together to enhance Abbey line stations

Volunteers from Communities 1st, Mencap, Building Better Opportunities, London North Western Railway, Hertfordshire County Council and Park Street Residents Association have worked together the last few months at the Abbey line Stations. The groups have been working on planters donated by The Abbey Line Community Rail Partnership, as part of it's campaign to bring together local groups to help enhance the stations. A variety of plants can now be seen along the line and we look forward to seeing them bloom to add colour and vibrancy to our stations.
Thank you to all our volunteers. If you, family, friends or group would be interested in volunteering or adopt any of the stations, please get in touch with the Partnership Development Officer, info@abbeylinecommunityrail.org.uk
