Let us guide you to a selection of good pubs that are in easy reach of Abbey Line stations, ranging from busy town pubs in Watford and St Albans to traditional country pubs in the rural areas.
We’re excited to announce our latest Abbey Line project! Our new Rail Ale Trail, created in collaboration with the local branches of CAMRA and launched at the 2026 City of Ale festival in St Albans.
Pick up a leaflet from participating pubs or view online.
To visit more than one pub on this trail, simply hop on the next train, or take a stroll along one of the many footpaths that criss-cross the area, including the Abbey Line Trail which is a 9-mile footpath running between Watford Junction and St Albans Abbey through the beautiful countryside of the River Colne. There are also bus routes which pass near to most of the pubs.
Huge thanks to Lee from Ember Designs for leaflet design.
