Promoting Sustainable Travel
At Watford's Green Festival
We enjoyed a successful day of engagement and outreach at Watford’s Green Festival in Great Big Green Week (also Community Rail Week!), encouraging residents to consider more sustainable travel choices across the local area.
Held as part of the town’s celebration of environmental awareness and community action, the festival brought together a wide range of organisations, charities and community groups committed to promoting greener lifestyles. The Abbey Line CRP stall attracted visitors of all ages, providing information about the benefits of travelling by rail, walking and cycling, and highlighting opportunities to explore the region sustainably.
Throughout the day, visitors stopped by the stand to learn more about the Abbey Line, other local trains and buses, walking and cycling routes, and how public transport can help reduce carbon emissions while supporting healthier and more connected communities.
The Abbey Line CRP would like to thank the festival organisers and everyone who visited the stall. The partnership looks forward to continuing its work with local communities to promote sustainable transport and encourage more people to discover the environmental, social and wellbeing benefits of travelling by rail.
