Premier Foods IT Team Digs In

Community gardening day at St Albans Abbey Station

Employees from Premier Foods’ IT department swapped keyboards for garden tools during a special corporate volunteer day at the St Albans Abbey Station Community Garden today.

The team spent the afternoon clearing overgrown areas, planting spring bulbs, and crafting eco-friendly bird feeders to support local wildlife. With daffodils and grape hyacinths now nestled in the soil, the garden is set to burst into colour next spring -thanks to the hard work and enthusiasm of the volunteers.

As a gentle activity to intersperse the more physical work, participants made bird feeders using pinecones, coconut oil, and birdseed. These simple but effective feeders will help sustain birds through the colder months and encourage biodiversity in the garden.

The event not only supported a local green space but also offered Premier Foods staff a chance to connect outside the office and give back to the community.

Happy participants relished the opportunity to work in the fresh air, have some fun with colleagues and see the immediate difference they made to the area.

The Abbey Line CRP extends its thanks to all the volunteers for their time, energy, and community spirit!
