Hertfordshire’s New Local Transport Plan
Have Your Say
The Abbey Line CRP is encouraging residents, passengers and community groups to take part in the consultation on Hertfordshire County Council’s draft Local Transport Plan (LTP), which will help shape transport investment and priorities across the county until 2050. The consultation runs until 9 November 2026 and covers everything from rail and bus services to walking, cycling, accessibility, road safety and emerging transport technologies.
A reliable, accessible and sustainable transport network is essential for our communities. Whether you’re travelling for work, education, healthcare or leisure, the decisions made through this plan will influence how people move around Hertfordshire for decades to come. The draft plan aims to improve connectivity, increase transport choices, support sustainable growth and create a safer and more inclusive network for residents, businesses and visitors.
For communities along the Abbey Line, this consultation presents an important opportunity to highlight the value of local rail services and the role they play in connecting people to opportunities, reducing congestion and supporting greener travel choices. Community feedback will help ensure that future transport investment reflects the needs of local people and promotes better integration between rail, bus, walking and cycling networks.
As a Community Rail Partnership, we know that transport is about much more than getting from A to B. Good transport links help tackle isolation, support local economies, improve access to employment and education, and encourage more sustainable lifestyles. That is why we are keen to see as many people as possible contribute their views.
To view the draft plan and take part in the consultation, visit Hertfordshire County Council’s Local Transport Plan consultation webpage before 9 November 2026. Together, we can help shape a transport network that works for passengers, communities and future generations.
