Work starts on new Garston Community Garden

Thanks to the Abbey Line Community Rail Partnership, ground clearance of the patch of derelict land behind the station platform is now underway.

Once cleared, we will be inviting the local community to input into design plans for a wildlife-friendly community garden – a vibrant new place to enjoy time in nature, as well as learning about and enhancing biodiversity.

Final design tweaks and a schedule for planting will then be drawn up.

We hope to involve as many local residents and community groups as possible. We’re already reaching out to local allotment societies, the residents association, scout groups and more.
