First session at Abbey Station Wildlife Garden
A few jobs and planning
The Abbey Line Community Rail Partnership held its first volunteer session at Abbey Station Wildlife Garden today, despite the drizzle!
Volunteers from Abbey Station Friends and St Albans eco-churches installed bird feeders, a new rope fence, and litter picked.
Next steps are to put in a ‘Coming Soon’ sign with contact details, get advice from wildlife experts and lay temporary wood chip pathways.
Our ambition is to create accessible pathways – bear with us as we explore options for this.
Our volunteers wanted to see the area look more cared for, raise the profile of the train line and environmental matters, and help connect wildlife corridors throughout the region.
