Celebrating Black creativity

Culture in Colour is a vibrant celebration of Black creativity, showcasing powerful works of art and poetry by Black artists and creatives.

This exhibition brings together bold visual art, intimate written word, and expressive storytelling to explore themes of identity, heritage, joy, and hope. Each piece reflects the diverse and styles within Black artistic expression.

Many of the featured artists have connections to St Albans and Watford, the two Abbey Line train stations that feature this installation.

The exhibition highlights both emerging and established artists, some of whom have had their work showcased by leading cultural institutions and media platforms such as the BBC, British Vogue, and major UK galleries.

View the creative works on the Abbey Line platforms at Watford Junction and St Albans Abbey stations during October and November 2025.

Black History Month is an annual celebration that recognises and honours the contributions, achievements, and history of Black people and communities. It is a time to celebrate the creativity, resilience, and excellence that continue to enrich our communities today.
