Cherry Tree Primary Pupils Become Station Adopters
At Watford Junction Station
Young people from Cherry Tree Primary School are set to make a lasting difference to their community after becoming the newest station adopters at Watford Junction. The pupils, aged seven to eleven, will help brighten the station with flowers and greenery, building on the success of the school’s gardening club and creating a more welcoming environment for passengers.
The adoption follows a memorable visit to the station during Rail Safety Week, when pupils took part in railway safety activities and even made announcements to passengers. Their enthusiasm clearly left an impression, leading to this exciting new opportunity to get involved with their local railway.
At Abbey Line Community Rail Partnership, we are delighted to see young people being encouraged to take pride in their local stations and communities. Projects like this help develop a sense of ownership, civic pride and environmental responsibility, while creating more attractive and welcoming railway spaces for everyone.
We look forward to supporting Cherry Tree Primary School and London Northwestern Railway as the project develops. Whether through sharing community rail expertise, promoting the pupils’ achievements, or helping to inspire future community-led station improvements across the Abbey Line and beyond, we are proud to champion initiatives that connect young people with their local railway.
We can’t wait to see Watford Junction bloom over the coming months and celebrate the positive impact these young station adopters will make!
