Looking into accessibility issues at St Albans Abbey Station

12 March 2024

We braved the weather this morning to look into accessibility issues at St Albans Abbey Station

Boarding the coaches is a challenge for many and the raised platform fix the ‘Harrington Hump’ is not aligned with the accessible coach.

This means the ramp is very steep and unsuitable for independent wheelchair and mobility scooter users.

Thanks to St Albans Access Forum for highlighting this and to representatives from Network Rail and West Midland Trains who joined us today to assess and take this forward.

We’ll keep you updated on progress.
